Hypnotherapy For Autoimmune disease

Use hypnosis to reduce autoimmunity, modulate inflammation, reduce pain and alleviate symptoms naturally.

I know too well what it’s like to have a relapse of autoimmune disease. When pain and symptoms flare up, it can leave you debilitated and feeling helpless. Your quality of life seems to deteriorate, and you begin to stop doing the things you used to do. Such as going to the park, playing sports or just the simple trip to the grocery store, all of a sudden became difficult. My bad days were spent in bed, unable to walk to the bathroom without excruciating pain. Circumstances like these can leave us feeling depressed, angry and powerless with no hope.
For many years, western medicine believed that the mind is separate from the body and the immune system. Research over the last few decades has since discovered that our thoughts and feelings do indeed affect our health and well being. Mental health can affect your physical health and visa versa. Furthermore, a growing body of research suggests stress and trauma may contribute to autoimmune disease development. It seems to be a vicious cycle. Episodes of symptoms, pain, and inflammation can further exacerbate any underlying stress or mental health issues, contributing to further relapses and disease progression. Therefore, reducing stress, healing past trauma and cultivating an optimistic mindset conducive to inner peace and happiness is vital in the holistic approach to managing an autoimmune disease.

Hypnotherapy to reduce Autoimmune disease symptoms

Using rapid transformational therapy– a form of Hypnotherapy and EFT. I target Autoimmune disease using a wide range of techniques.

A large observational study found that stress disorders are significantly associated with developing an Autoimmune disease. Furthermore, adverse childhood experience (ACE) research found that higher levels of childhood trauma increase your risk of developing and autoimmune conditions in adulthood. In a meta-analysis, hypnosis was found to be effective at alleviating symptoms of PTSD.
During the hypnotherapy session, we use regression techniques to identify if past trauma is part of the underlying cause of the autoimmune disease. Hypnotherapy is a useful tool in healing any underlying traumatic experiences. I also use emotional freedom technique complement hypnotherapy in my sessions in treating trauma.
Stress is a normal response to threatening situations. However, it can become chronic and harmful to our health and immune system. We can’t always control the stressful situations we face in our life. However, we can change our response to it. Research has shown that having a positive mindset and beliefs about stress can reduce the adverse effects of stress by 23% while promoting the enhancing effects of stress.
While working with my clients, I aim to promote a healthy stress response, positive mindset and create a state of calm and inner peace using Hypnotherapy, EFT and coaching.
Pain relief

One of the most clinically researched areas of Hypnotherapy is in both chronic and acute pain relief. Hypnotherapy for pain relief is recommended by the American arthritis foundation; “Hypnosis may be a helpful non-drug therapy to reduce pain in chronic conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia. Studies show that more than 75% of people with arthritis and related diseases experience significant pain relief using hypnosis”.

Guided imagery
We know that the mind and the immune system are connected. In the American Journal of clinical hypnosis, case studies used guided imagery to reduce autoimmunity in clients with autoimmune disease.
Gut health and digestion

You may have heard that 2500 years ago, Hippocrates stated that “All disease begins in the Gut”. There is evidence suggesting that gut health plays a big part in the development and progression of autoimmune disease. Leaky gut (intestinal hyperpermeability), an imbalance of beneficial and pathogenic bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi are all linked to autoimmune disease development.

Research has found Gut directed Hypnotherapy to be highly effective in reducing irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms and may alter intestinal microbiota composition. Monash University found that Hypnotherapy can reduce IBS symptoms by 72%! However, IBS isn’t specifically autoimmune-related; this highlights that hypnosis can affect the gut-brain axis. In my sessions, I use gut-directed Hypnotherapy to improve gastrointestinal symptoms my clients may be facing.
